What is Aloe Vera?
The aloe vera plant is very similar to a cactus but it is in fact it is a member of the Lily Family.  There are over 250 different species of Aloe, growing naturally in dry regions of Africa, Asia, Europe and America.  Aloe Barbadensis Miller and Aloe Arborescens Miller are the only two species commercially grown.
 
The leaves from the Aloe plant grow in a rosette pattern from the base. Mature plants can reach a height of 1.5m, usually averaging around 1m in length.  At maturity, an aloe plant averages around 12-16 leaves weighing as much as 2 x g each.  The plants are harvested every 6-8 weeks carefully removing 3 to 4 leaves per plant.

Most juices on the market are made from poor quality, highly refined cosmetic grade Aloe Vera, often derived from powders and concentrates, although advertised as 100% Aloe Vera, they are easily recognised by their transparent appearance and lack of strong Aloe taste.  It’s like comparing freshly squeezed orange juice with those made from concentrate.  The processing and filtering of Aloe Vera can strip the juice of many important properties. Independent testing has shown that many juices provide little or no activity.
 
DOSAGE: 
Take 25ml twice daily, direct or mixed with water or fruit juice.  Refrigerate after opening and consume within two months.
