When taken just before a starch-based meal, Phase 2 Starch Neutraliser (also known as Phaseolamin 2250) it can neutralise a significant proportion of that meal’s starch content.  It prevents the body from absorbing up to 75% of the starch calories in that meal, whilst allowing the body to benefit from all the other valuable nutrients in starch-rich foods. 

During your body’s digestive process, carbohydrates from starchy foods like bread and potatoes are converted into sugars. Your digestive system does this by acting on and breaking down the carbohydrate molecules with a glycoprotein enzyme produced in the pancreas, known as alpha amylase. The sugar calories created in this way are made available to your body for exercise or to be stored as fat cells for future use. The body's energy requirements may result in the burning of all the calories made available to it, but any calories not burnt in this way will be stored and the accumulation of these stored fat cells inevitably leads to the unwanted outcome of weight gain.

Phase 2 Starch Neutralises the effect on the alpha amylase enzyme and in effect prevents it from carrying out its normal function of converting starch into sugar calories.
