Shiitake also contains eighteen amino acids and is  rich in Vitamin B, especially Vitamins B¹ (thiamine), B² (ribioflavin), and B³ (niacin). 

Maitake is considered an adaptogen, which means that it helps the body adapt to stress and normalises healthy bodily functions.  Its properties are thought to relate to its high content of a polysaccharide called beta-1, 6-glucan.  Cordiceps is helpful for maintaining a healthy liver and healthy heart.
