The area where the Green Lippid Mussels are grown is situated off the coastline of the North Island of New Zealand. The Mussels are grown in the clean coastal waters and even though the area already has a Blue Ocean Environmental Award, the ocean water, as well as the mussels are constantly monitored for safety - bacteria, toxins and heavy metals.
