The area where the Green Lipped Mussels are grown is situated off the coastline of the North Island of New Zealand.  These green lipped mussels are grown in the clean coastal waters and even though the area already has a Blue Ocean Environmental Award, the ocean water and the mussels are constantly monitored for safety, bacteria, toxins and heavy metals.
